Pita Pizzas Recipe

This recipe may need some adult supervision, but it's still an activity that children from 2 years of age can join in.  Best of all, it only takes 5 minutes to prepare and 10 minutes to cook!

The great thing about this recipe is that you can use whatever you have on hand for the toppings, and it gives the child room to experiment and take ownership of their meal. It's also a great family activity where each person can make their own, and ingredients can be substituted with vegan options.

Ingredients

1 wholemeal pita bread wrap
1 tablespoon tomato passata or tomato paste
1 slice natural ham / tuna / egg / shredded chicken (optional)
veggies of your choice: red capsicum, zucchini, spinach leaves, canned pineapple (drained), tomatoes, mushrooms, corn kernels (drained), etc
2 tablespoons grated cheese

Instructions

1. Pre-heat oven to 180ºC
2. Cut all ingredients into small strips
3. Spread passata/tomato paste over the pita bread base
4. Sprinkle ingredients over the pizza
5. Sprinkle cheese on top
6. Bake for 10 minutes (until edges turn crisp)
